Cancellations and Information as of March 18th, 2020 (COVID-19 UPDATE)

-MCSA’s New Beginnings Fundraiser has been moved until some time later this year in order to promote a health community.

-The Dollar General has made the decision to give their first hour of business to the elderly. The elderly can come and purchase their items without the hustle and bustle and possible Covid 19 exposure, from 8a-9a.

-Community Action of Eastern Iowa is encouraging all residents to apply for utility assistance. Workers who have lost wages due to the Covid 19 crisis are especially encouraged to apply. Additionally, Community Action of Eastern Iowa can deliver emergency food supplies to households that need food on an emergency basis.

-Starting March 19th, people 60 years of age and older, people with a respiratory condition, or people with underlying health conditions can receive delivered to their homes at no cost through The United Way, The Salvation Army, and The Muscatine Center for Social Action. -Effective immediately, Crossroads’ Dayhab and Supported Employment services have suspended services until Friday, April 3rd both in Muscatine and in Tipton. Supported Community Living locations will remain in operation as will Crossroads Muscatine production services.

-Effective March 18th, Hy-Vee stores will be closing at 8PM. Until further notice, Hy-Vee’s new store hours will be 8AM-8PM to provide additional cleaning and sanitizing as well as offering more time to employee’s to be with their loved ones.

-Hy-Vee has also announced that they reserving one hour of shopping time prior to it’s new opening time of 8am for customers considered high risk,

-As of March 18th, Eastern Iowa Community Colleges will be closing its campuses to the general public until April 12th. It will reopen April 13th.

-The Annual Iowa 4H and FFA Rabbit and Cavy workshop has been cancelled. This was to be held at the Muscatine Ag Learning Center on March 22nd. No word on whether it will be rescheduled at this time.

-Muscatine Power and Water has announced that they will be closing the doors of its lobby until further notice. Their drive thru will remain open to receive payments and for any questions regarding accounts.

-The Calvary Church has gone to Online Services only, starting at 9AM with English services and 11AM with Spanish services.

-Saints Mary and Mathias Catholic Church’s Knights of Columbus’ remaining Friday Fish Fry’s have been cancelled.

-The Musser Public Library has cancelled all programs as has the Wilton Public Library.

-The Muscatine Municipal Golf Course will remain open to the public at this time, but the clubhouse will be closed for dine-in service.

-The Muscatine Dog Park and outdoor recreation areas will remain open to the public.

-The remainder of Spring Indoor Recreation programs and special events will be cancelled. This includes the final week of Adult Volleyball league and Gymnastics Session D.

-The Art of Gardening through the ISU Extension Office has been cancelled.

-Active Health and Chiropractic in West Liberty will remain open to help alleviate medical offices of the burden of the current pandemic by treating non-emergency conditions.

-Blaze Fitness in West Liberty will be closed until March 31st.

-West Liberty Public Library is closed until further notice.

-City of West Liberty offices will be open but on an appointment basis. Call City Hall at 319-627-2418.

-Dreamscape Studios will be available for appointments.

-Hills Bank and Trust- Most locations will be offering Drive-Up service only.

-Mercy Services in West Liberty will keep their hours the same at this time.

-MidWestOne Bank’s lobby is closed but their Drive-Thru will be open.

-Simpson Memorial Home has requested that no visitors come to the premises until further notice.

-West Liberty Chamber of Commerce is closed to foot traffic. If you need to make an appointment, call Steph at 319-541-4781.

-West Liberty State Bank’s lobby is closed but but the Drive-Thru and ATM open.
