Mixed month for weather in Wisconsin
The USDA weather was mixed during February in Wisconsin.
The state saw record high temperatures to kick off the month, but overall, temperatures were close to normal, as was precipitation.
Snow cover is called adequate, limiting frost, and possibly limiting damage in winter grains and alfalfa.
Most of the state still had some corn in the ground and producers harvested when able.
The USDA says animal health was normal and calving is underway.
The USDA’s weekly crop progress and condition reports resume in April.
