Muscatine Community School District announces superintendent selection

The Muscatine Community School District’s Board of Education is pleased to announce that a contract for Superintendent of Muscatine Community Schools has been offered to Mr. Clint Christopher. His hire will become official after the board approves his contract at the next school board meeting on Monday, Feb. 10.

Christopher is currently the superintendent of Eastern Carver County School District 112 in Chaska, Minnesota. He has worked in Eastern Carver County School District as superintendent since July 2017. Prior to that, he served as Associate Superintendent for three years at Eastern Carver County School District. He also has experience as an Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, Director of Technology and Curriculum, and elementary principal with Moline School District in Illinois. Mr. Christopher and his family are originally from the Quad Cities area.

Muscatine Community School District retained the services of McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C. to assist in conducting their search. The consultants reviewed, screened, and conducted extensive background checks on twenty-one applicants. On Dec. 16, the consultants presented the applicants to the Board of Education and provided them detailed background information on each applicant. The three finalists were selected from a group of six semi-finalists. The week of Jan. 20, the three finalists participated in a full day of interviews with five different stakeholder groups consisting of 56 individuals representing business/community, parents, staff, administrators, and students. The Board of Education appreciates the time and input these individuals gave to the process of selecting its next leader.

Christopher will assume the duties of superintendent of schools beginning July 1.
