During the Muscatine County Conservation Board meeting on Jan. 16, Conservation Board employees Kent Kaufman, Dave Bakke, and Ryne Brimeyer were awarded Certificates of Recognition & Appreciation for saving the life of a local fisherman who had experienced a heart attack at Discovery Park on April 3, 2019. In appreciation of their actions that day, Tim Edwards of Muscatine, who experienced the heart attack, donated $2,000 to the Conservation Board to purchase another AED (automated external defibrillator) for one of the Conservation Board maintenance vehicles used in the county parks.
