Joyce Cunningham, 88, of Muscatine, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at Trinity Hospital, Rock Island. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 20, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services, 2907 Mulberry Avenue, Muscatine. Interment will be in Illinois City Cemetery. Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Walnut Park Baptist Church. Visitation for Joyce will be held on Monday, January 20, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to Walnut Park Baptist Church in memory of Joyce. Florence Joyce Christensen was born on August 24, 1931, in Woonsocket, South Dakota, the daughter of Joseph and Florence Pearl (Todd) Christensen. She attended school in Bemidji, MN and graduated from Oakland Iowa High School. Joyce received her degree from Grace Bible Institute in Omaha, NE. On May 27, 1955, Florence was united in marriage to Loren Cunningham in Omaha, NE. Joyce was a member of the Grandview Community Bible Church and most recently Walnut Park Baptist Church. She did housework and was a babysitter over the years. Most important to Joyce was spending time with her family.
Joyce will be deeply missed by her sons, Wesley (Helen) Cunningham of Illinois City, James (Deanna) Cunningham of Muscatine and Roger Cunningham of Muscatine; three grandchildren, Timothy, Tamar, and Aaron; and many extended family.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Robert and Daniel; two brothers, Alvin and Marvin and six sisters, Virginia, Mary Jo, June, Eunice, Delores and Beverly.
