Dorothy Christine (Forrester) Meltzer

Dorothy Christine Meltzer, 75, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020, at her home in Muscatine.  A Celebration of Life Services will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in memory of Chris.  The Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine, formerly the Geo. Dorothy Christine Meltzer was born on September 30, 1944, in Waltham, Mass., the daughter of Edwin Cann and Dorothy J. (Joslyn) Forrester.  On June 13, 1965, Chris was united in marriage to James Louis Meltzer at the Faith United Church of Christ in Muscatine.  Chris worked as a Pharmaceutical Tech and then was a Medical Transcriptionist.  She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, Eastern Star, and the American Legion Auxiliary.  She was a past member of the Elks and Moose Lodge.  Chris enjoyed playing Bridge, eating Mondays and Thursdays at the Brew and Fridays at the Legion, traveling to Wisconsin and the Cape with the family, but most of all, spending time with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Chris will be deeply missed by her children, Troy (Patricia) Meltzer of Cummins, Georgia and Tracie Morgan and fiancé, Scott Moore of Muscatine; four grandchildren, Megan Timbrook, J.C. Meltzer and significant other, Jenny Stott, Tory (Ashley) Meltzer, and Dakota (Tiffany) Adams; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Lee Forrester, and companion, Sue Ocheltree of Bettendorf; the Milwaukee family and special friends, Kent Keller, Glenda and Mr. Matt, DeLynn Price Davis and, Michelle Carlisle.

Chris was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
