ROSE M. DAVIS

Rose M. Davis, age 83, of Iconium, Iowa, formerly of Muscatine, went to be with the Lord at 10:35AM, Sunday, December 15, 2019 at her home, after a long battle with cancer.

Rose was born on November 13, 1936, the daughter of Lloyd and Florence (Snyder) Carter. On September 18, 1954, Rose was united in marriage to Alvin Laverne Davis Sr., and to this union seven children were born, Alvin, Keith, Terry, Greg, Kenneth, Laura, and Scott.

Rose was a dedicated mother, first and foremost. She lived a full life, and treasured her children and grandchildren. She cherished and embraced every moment spent with them. Rose enjoyed gardening, canning and tending to her flowers. She loved her Unionville, Iowa Baptist Church and family. Rose’s faith was very important to her.

Left to cherish Rose’s memory are her husband, Alvin Davis Sr. of Iconium; her children, Alvin Davis Jr. (Robin Furne) of Crystal River, Florida, Keith Davis of Crystal River, Florida, Terry (Brenda) Davis of Centerville, Iowa, Laura Hein (Jeff Foster) of Muscatine, Iowa, and Scott (Shelly) Davis of Laramie, Wyoming; 23 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; six siblings, Ann Weikert, Donna Danner, Bob (Linda) Carter, Sandy (Mike) Richter, Linda Bradley, and Leonard Carter; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Florence Carter; two sons, Greg Davis and Kenneth Davis; and three siblings, Bill Eisele, Lloyd Carter Jr., and JoAnn Phillips.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Thursday, December 19, 2019 at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home in Muscatine, IA, with Pastor Josh Davenport officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Memorial Park Cemetery in Muscatine. Visitation will take place Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville, with the family greeting friends from 5:00- 7:00PM. Memorials have been established to Alvin Davis, to be determined at a later date, and may be dropped off or mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
