Heuer Construction will begin to replace a patch of concrete near the intersection of Lake Park Boulevard and Park Avenue as soon as possible and that will result in traffic restrictions for that intersection. An exact date for the restrictions has not been announced as yet.

The implementations of the restrictions and duration of the restrictions is dependent on the completion of other sections on Lake Park Boulevard and the weather.

Among the restrictions will be:

No left turn for eastbound Lake Park Boulevard traffic to the northbound lanes on Park Avenue.

No right turn for southbound Park Avenue traffic onto westbound Lake Park Boulevard.

No left turn for northbound Park Avenue traffic onto westbound Lake Park Boulevard.

There will also be limited access to the Muscatine Veterinary Hospital off of Lake Park Boulevard.

Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution when proceeding through construction zones and to find alternate routes when possible.

Heuer Construction has been working on Lake Park Boulevard as part of the Full Depth Patch Project for the past several weeks. Lane restrictions have been in place from Park Avenue to 2nd Avenue as work progressed.

North Houser Street (Hershey to Lucas) and South Houser Street (Musser to Grandview) have been completed as part of the $919,875 Full Depth Patching contract for the 2019-2020 fiscal year awarded to Heuer Construction on July 15, 2019 by the Muscatine City Council on the recommendation of the Department of Public Works staff.

Work is nearing completion on Lake Park Boulevard from 2nd Avenue to Park Avenue, University Drive from Highway 61 to Highway 22, and on 2nd Avenue from Cleveland to Lake Park Boulevard. If time and money permits, Fulliam Avenue from Kindler to Devitt and from Houser to Green Acres will be addressed.
