Farm bureau donates toward horse arena upgrades

The Muscatine County Fair offered thanks to the Muscatine County Farm Bureau for their recent donation towards remodeling the Horse Arena at the fairgrounds.

Fair officials have begun another rigorous remodeling project replacing the spectator shelter and arena continuous fencing and constructing a new announcers booth/admin office and storage facility.

Local 4-H riding clubs organized and sponsored five riding events last year including the fair sending 10 riders to the Iowa State Fair for competition; the second largest number of riders by state comparison.

“Farm Bureau has been a steadfast partner in helping with many refurbishment projects at the fair,” said fair president Any Carter. “We are grateful for their support in helping preserve the Grounds while providing a safe environment for Youth Development and family entertainment.”

The horse arena project is scheduled for completion by early May with a rededication to take place during the fair.
