The fourth annual Book Bums Writer’s Workshop will be held at the West Liberty Public Library on Saturday, November 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There is no charge,  and all interested parties are welcome. A book signing and sale will be open to the public from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Thirteen Iowa and Illinois authors are participating. They include the two most recent winners of the Great River Writer’s Retreat award: Misty Urban in 2017 and Mary Howard in 2016. Other participants are Roger Hileman, Dave Hoing, and Jodie Toohey, authors of historical fiction; Teresa Labella, romance; Elaine Orr and Karen Musser Nortman, cozy mysteries; Dylan Moonfire, fantasy and science fiction; Remi Hunter, police procedurals; Debra Barry, children’s and YA literature; Mary Jedlicka Humston, memoir and poetry; and John Labella, cookbooks. Jodie Toohey and Dylan Moonfire also write poetry and John LaBella and Jodie Toohey provide editing and publishing services.

Workshop sessions will cover the topics of using settings, revising, polishing your manuscript, marketing, and collaborative writing. The West Liberty library is located at 400 N Spencer St. No registration is necessary.
