RAGBRAI Muscatine has provided a breakdown of what to expect:

Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 23
People will start arriving July 21, 22, and 23 to park their vehicles for the week at Muscatine High School (if full, then Mulberry school; if full, then the MCSD parking lot). There will be a small number arriving the week prior; these people bicycle out to the start of RAGBRAI in Glenwood, IA. Multiple charter and team buses will arrive and depart MHS starting Friday, July 22 and should be done by late afternoon Saturday. We are told to expect approximately 800 campers on Friday night (there will be a few on Thursday night) and several cars will arrive in the early morning hours on Saturday for a total of approximately 1,000 cars to be parked for the week.

The huge undertaking of coordinating pre-purchased parking reservations and providing camping areas with showers is being championed by the Muskie Booster Club, as a fundraiser for the Club.

There will be a hundred or so cyclists sleeping at the YMCA on Friday, July 22 as a fundraiser for the Y. Some residents will be hosting cyclists at their homes on Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 30.

Expect Cedar Street between the by-pass and MHS/Hayes School to be extremely busy the 22nd and 23rd. The majority of cyclists and buses will be gone by 4:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
