If you’ve lived in the City of Muscatine for more than a year, you’re probably familiar with Two Weeks of Love. During the two weeks following Thanksgiving, businesses and individuals join forces to help those in need in our area. This will mark the 17th year of Two Weeks of Love.
The first week is Freezin’ for Food. Non-perishable food items can be donated to help fill the Hawkeye Hauler provided by TanTara Transportation. If you prefer, Hy-Vee offers pre-filled bags for purchase that include staple food items. All donations go to Muscatine’s Salvation Army Food Pantry and help local individuals and families who are food insecure. KWPC and Vintage Sound will be at the truck all week broadcasting live.
Week two is Toy Time. Krieger’s will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for children in need in the Muscatine area. The Young Professional Network of Muscatine will also be working with local businesses to help collect corporate donations.
New this year, Calvary Church will be collecting toy donations for the Angel Tree. They will host the Salvation Army Toyshop on their campus.
