Two arrested at Muscatine High School

On Wednesday, May 10th, 2017, the Muscatine High School reported finding terroristic threats on an electronic device owned by the High School. A criminal investigation was launched involving the Muscatine Police Department School resource officer and the Muscatine Police Department Major Crimes Unit.

Two juvenile students enrolled at Muscatine High School were identified as being responsible for the threats and were arrested for threatening terrorism.

A person who threatens to commit terrorism or threatens to cause terrorism to be committed and who causes a reasonable expectation or fear of the imminent commission of such an act of terrorism commits a class “D” felony.

A criminal investigation is on-going and being conducted by the Muscatine Police Department Major Crimes Unit. The Muscatine Police Department is asking for the public’s help in providing any information. Anyone with information is asked to contact Lt. Tim Hull at 563-263-9922 ext. 608. The above listed individuals should be considered innocent of the aforementioned crime until proven otherwise by a court of law.
