On June 10, 2017, the Muscatine Area Farmers Market will host the third annual Big Burger Battle. Local citizens can enter for free. Contest rules are simple: contestants are to cook two burgers for submission. The burgers need to be cooked onsite and can be made of assorted proteins or vegetables.

Burgers must be cooked to appropriate temperatures for consumption in order to be judged. Contestants are required to use two ingredients from the Muscatine Area Farmers Market on the day of the competition. Contestants can bring their own condiments, but all heating must be done on the grill, as no other heat sources are permitted. The grill will be furnished by Hy-Vee.

The offerings will be judged by Chef Tess from Hy-Vee, Drake Kulick, and Chef Donny from Hy-Vee Mainstreet.
