The Musser Public Library will continue its Winter Reading Program this year. The program, modeled as a shortened version of the summer reading program, is in its second year. Much like the popular summer reading program, the aim is to get children engaged in reading as a hobby.
For the winter program, readers will be rewarded with an Emoji squeeze ball or slinky for every 10 books they check out from the library and complete.
The program will run through January 15 and is open to all children in Muscatine and surrounding areas.
Children who do not have a library card of their own yet may sign up for no cost to obtain a card in their name, or parents or guardians may check out books on their cards as well.
The Musser Public Library is located at 304 Iowa Avenue in downtown Muscatine. The library is open 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays.
The library will keep regular business hours through the holiday season and will be closed December
24, 25, and 26 for the Christmas Holiday and will be open shortened hours of 10-2 on December 31 and will be closed January 1 and 2 in observance of New Year’s.
