The City of Muscatine will host a ribbon cutting for the opening of the Sino-U.S. Friendship House on Sept. 17 at 10 a.m. The house, located at 2911 Bonnie Drive, was purchased by Daniel Wang and Glad Cheng and serves as a symbol of the old and new friendships between China, the United States, and specifically Muscatine. Chinese President Xi Jin Ping stayed in the house in 1985 when he was part of a delegation learning about modern agricultural techniques.
The opening of the Sino-U.S. Friendship House is one more opportunity to build relationships and friendships that will serve to both to remember the past and look to the future as the relationship between China and Muscatine continues to strengthen.
