To Access Your Webmail


Note:  Do not automatically forward your Prairie Communications account to another email address.  To use Outlook, Thunderbird, Gmail or similar, see instructions below.

You will probably receive a warning that says there is a problem with the certificate like one of the ones below.  The mail server is secure, so please click on continue to this website. You may be asked if you would like to add an exception, please click yes.  You should only have to do this the first time you access your webmail (unless you change browsers).

Home Account Screen

First, click on change password!  Once password is changed, click on Read Mail Using Roundcube to access your webmail.

Email Client Settings For Any Prairie Email Account (USE IMAP ACCOUNT TYPE)

Username: Full Email Address
Password: Use the email account’s password.
Incoming Server:

  • IMAP Port: 143
  • Thunderbird Server Settings
    • Connection Security:  StartTLS
    • Auth. method:  Normal Password
Outgoing Server:

  • SMTP Port: 465
  • Thunderbird outgoing (SMTP) Server Settings
    • Connection Security:  SSL/TLS
    • Auth. method:  Normal password
Authentication is required for IMAP –
If your email client asks to verify the certificate, click yes (or authorize or similar).  Could also be view certificate and then trust certificate.
