Wanda A. Martin, 87, of Muscatine, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Pearl Valley Rehab and Health Center in Muscatine. Per her wishes, no visitation or services are being planned at this time. Private interment will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Wanda’s name. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for Wanda’s family and the arrangements.

Wanda Arlene Swick was born on December 13, 1929 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Grover and Bessie (Blake) Swick. On June 22, 1958, Wanda was united in marriage to Carroll Martin in Muscatine. She retired from Thatchers after 33 years. She later worked a seasonal job at the Pioneer seed corn plant for another 13 years. She rode a Harley Sportster for many years and belonged to a local motorcycle club with her husband. Wanda enjoyed playing cards, gardening and feeding the birds and squirrels in the yard.

Wanda will be missed by her grandson, Richard Howard and friend Carla of Tilton, IL; great-grandchildren, Brittany Dougherty, Danielle Howard and Ethan Howard all of IL; great-great-grandson, Jaxon Dougherty; son-in-law, Charles Glover of Kansas; and sisters-in-law, Corky and Bonnie Swick.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, husband, Carroll in 1982; daughter, Barbara Glover; grandson, Carroll Glover; three brothers, Harold, Richard and Roger Swick; and special friend, Frank Newten.
