Douglas “Dugger” Stephen Kean , 75, of Wilton, died suddenly on Friday, February 9, 2018 in Daytona Beach,
Doug was born in Muscatine on June 28, 1942 to Clair and Florence Hoskins Kean .
Doug graduated from Wilton High School and then from MCC. He owned and operated SOS Appliance Tech retiring in 2004. Doug married Marilyn A. Asmus on February 8, 1964 in Wilton.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, he served as a Wilton Volunteer Fireman and on the Wilton Municipal Light Board.
He was an avid sports fan, especially NASCAR races. He loved spending time on the beach in Florida. He was always quick with a one-liner and had a great sense of humor. He always had a smile on his face and enjoyed making people laugh. He enjoyed watching John Wayne westerns and was regularly seen driving his golf cart around Wilton. Above all, he loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 from 4 PM to 7 PM.. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Wilton.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 AM.. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Pastor Jennifer Jennings officiating.
Interment at Oakdale Cemetery in Wilton.
Doug is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn, daughter Stephanie, his grand-dog Tate, his brother Gary (Thip) of Orcas Island, WA and his sister and brothers-in-law: “Buzz” McKillip, Diane Mutz and Kenny and Donna Asmus.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Karen McKillip.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Wilton Volunteer Fire Department or the Oakdale Cemetery Association in his memory.
