First Baptist Church will host their 3rd Annual Muscatine Gospel Sing on Saturday, August 19 from 11:00 a.m. to around 7:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 3003 Mulberry Street in Muscatine.
The term gospel means “good news,” and a gospel sing is meant for people to come listen and sing along to gospel music sharing the good news of the Bible.
The first gospel sing was held in 2015 at Weed Park. It was begun as a tribute to Roger Ford, who had desired to see a gospel sing come to Muscatine. It is the goal of the gospel sing to have people of all ages and faiths come together for the purpose of praising the Lord in song.
This is the second year that the event has been held at First Baptist. There will be multiple groups performing at this event, including Joyful Sounds, The Terrill Sisters, Long Road Blues, Anchors of Praise, Nancy Reimers, Crimson River, Joyful Noyz, and Randy Koch.
Everyone is welcome, and there is no admission. This is an outdoor event, so bring a lawn chair. Concessions will be sold by the Women’s Mission Fellowship. If you have questions, call the church at (563) 263-5305.
