Muscatine Garden Club thinks pink

By Maryrose Peterschmidt

Members of the Muscatine Garden Club posed for a picture at the Plant It Pink garden at Weed Park. The garden is part of a state-wide Garden Club project intended to create breast cancer awareness and support. The Muscatine Garden Club has participated in this project for the last four years. The garden club received a grant from the Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine to enable members to purchase plants and shrubs and to help make the garden a mass of pink flowering plants. Since breast cancer affects so many women and their families, the Muscatine Garden Club decided that this was a worthwhile and meaningful project.
