At the September 1, 2016, meeting of the Muscatine City Council, City Engineer Jim Edgmond provided a timeline update on the complete street construction of the section of Mulberry Avenue from Houser Street to the Highway 61 bypass intersection. “August was a minor setback; we had one of the wettest months in recent history and it has pushed us two weeks or so behind schedule,” said Edgmond. “The good news is that the utility companies were able to stay on their schedule, so we have been told that we are still on schedule to be able to re-open the street to traffic, hopefully before the snow flies.”
