The Muscatine High School student council sponsored several events in November and the beginning of December, including both a food drive and a coat drive.
The coat drive was able to collect over 40 coats for students at the school who otherwise may not have one.
The CanBall event, which is an boys volleyball event collects 222 cans of food, and $162.
The Mr. Muscatine competition competition raised $3919.57! Admission was $5 and donations were taken as the competition.
The total for all of the recent events collected was $4,429.57 and 222 cans of food.
There is one food drive event remaining. MHS is hosting a Movie Night, which will take place on December 10 from 7-10 p.m. in the MHS Stan Howe Commons. Student Council will be showing the movie Elf to help put students in the Holiday Spirit.
Admission will be $3 or 4 canned goods. Tickets will be on sale to MHS students December 7th – December 11th during lunch in front of student services. All proceeds will go to the food drive.
