MHS Speech and Debate had a strong showing at the Bettendorf Bulldog Invitational. On Friday night, students competed in Congressional Debate. The pool of students was divided into two houses. In house 1, Daniel Salazar took 6th place, Jeremiah Daniels took 3rd, place and Ezekial Ellis took 2nd place. In house 2, Caylie Mchonaha took 6th place, Dalton Belekopitus took 3rd place, and Derek Sloat took 2nd place.

On Saturday, students competed in a variety of speech events. In Program Oral Interp, Seery Awbrey took 2nd and Jeremiah Daniels took 1st. In Dramatic Interp, Macey Webber took 5th and Ezekiel Ellis took 3rd. In Duo Interp, the team of Lucy Brookhart and Jeremiah Daniels took 5th, the team of Macey Webber and Seery Awbrey took 2nd, and the team of Caylie Mchonaha and Hannah Pautz took 1st.

In Informative, Dalton Belekopitus took 3rd. In Extemporaneous Speaking, Abbie Enriquez took 6th and Derek Sloat took 4th. In Humorous Interp, Daniel Salazar took 6th and Gabe Dipple took 4th. And finally, in Original Oratory, Shelby Grady took 7th and Raquel Navarette took 6th. Outstanding job, Muskies!
