Louisa County Conservation will host several summer nature camps this year. These camps teach children about nature and the great outdoors.
According to the Louisa County Conservation website, “Summer Nature Camps provide your child with positive outdoor interactions, teach them to love the earth, and get unplugged for a few hours of fun!”
Louisa County Nature Camps will feature nature exploration, hikes, games, activities, and crafts. The camps are open to children entering kindergarten through eighth grade. All camps, unless stated otherwise in the camp’s specific information, will be held at the Langwood Education Center and will be limited to 10 to 12 total participants.
Registration for the camps began April 2. Forms for the camps may be found online at, at the Louisa County Conservation Office, or at the Louisa County Public Library. Online registration is also available on the Louisa County Conservation website.
Fees vary depending on the camp. However, a T-shirt is included in the registration. Payment and a complete reservation form must be turned in to reserve a spot at the camp. Cancellations must be made at least two weeks prior to the start of camp to receive a full refund.
The Louisa County Conservation will also offer Nature Camp Scholarships. This is made possible thanks to an anonymous donor. The application for the scholarship is available both online and at the Louisa County Conservation office. They are due May 1 or until all funding has been distributed. A completed scholarship application, in lieu of payment, should be included with a paper registration form to be considered.
