Iowa Football Playoff Recap
Pella Christian was down 24-14 to Wilton, when they scored 28 unanswered points to defeat the beavers 42-24. Class 1A’s Leading passer David Kacmarynski passed for 229 yards and 3 touchdowns against the Beavers. Wilton’s quarterback Javin Drake completed 20 passes for 239 yards. Pella’s passing attack was just too potent for Wilton down the stretch. Pella’s receiver Levi Jungling had 3 Touchdown catches in the second half to close out the victory for the Eagles. Wilton running back Bryce Oveson had 3 TD’s to go along with his 126 yards rushing. The Beavers finished the season 5-5. Pella Christian will travel to West Branch on Monday night to face the undefeated Bears.
Columbus Communities Season game to an end Wednesday night at West Branch, West Branch got out to an early 48-0 lead and won the game 55-20.
Muscatine traveled to Pleasant Valley Wednesday night and was defeated 45-14 by the Spartans. The Muscatine offense struggled to be able to run the ball. Muscatine’s Alfonoso Soko, who was the states’ 4th leading rusher was hobbled early and finished the day with just 60 yards rushing. PV scored 28 unanswered points in the 2nd half. The Spartans’ Arthur Braden lead PV with 149 rushing yards, and 2 touchdowns, while PV’s QB Terry Saul had 110 yards and 1 rushing TD, to go along with 2 TD passes. PV will play Iowa City High at home on Monday night.
West Liberty continues road to state
The Top Seeded West Liberty Volleyball team will take on Mediapolis tonight at 7PM at West Liberty High School Class 3A regional Volleyball matchup.
