MUSCATINE, IA – Leadership changes are taking place at Community Bank & Trust in Muscatine.

Tom Spread has been named president and chief executive officer, while former president Gary Slight has been named vice chairman of the board and senior trust officer, according to David Carpenter, chairman of the board of Community Bank & Trust.

Spread, a resident of Muscatine since 1999, joined the bank in June 2010 as executive vice president. As president, his responsibilities will include oversight of all bank operations and product offerings. Spread is a member of the Community Bank & Trust board of directors and has 40 years of experience in banking. He also is a member of the Muscatine City Council.

According to Carpenter, Slight’s new position will be less involved in day-to-day operation of the bank and will allow him to focus on strategic planning, corporate governance and the trust department. Slight recently celebrated his 40th anniversary at Community Bank & Trust.

In other personnel news, Steven D. Andry has joined the bank as vice president and senior commercial loan officer. Andry has more than 30 years of experience in the banking industry. Most recently he served as senior loan officer and credit administration officer at Port Byron State Bank in Port Byron, Ill. Andry has been involved in Quad Cities organizations such as Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Junior Achievement and youth hockey.
