Since the first Earth Day in 1970, millions of Americans celebrate clean air, land, and water every year in April. Earth Day 2018 is Sunday, April 22 and will be celebrated by local kids at the Muscatine Art Center’s recycled art workshop.

Led by Julie Lear from the Musser Public Library, participating children will create a one-of-a-kind mixed media art piece from a variety of recycled materials.

“We’ll celebrate Earth Day with the kids,” said Katy Loos, Program Coordinator. “They’ll create a piece of art while learning about recycling.”

The Recycled Abstract kids workshop will be held Saturday, April 21 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Muscatine Art Center, 1314 Mulberry Ave. in Muscatine.  Reservations should be made by Friday, April 20. For more information or to register, call (563) 263-8282. The event is free.
