Flynn Collier opened “We Can Frame That” at 221 East 2nd Street in May, 2015. A few months later, he opened “Muscatine Photography Studio” in the adjoining store.
We Can Frame That is a full-service custom frame shop. Flynn says, “We will help you pick out the perfect matting and framing, and stretch your canvases.” Other services include repairing damaged frames and replacing broken glass, and, “We can even help you restore old or damaged pictures.”
Muscatine Photography Studio is a fully equipped, professional photography studio that is available for rent to local photographers to use as their own.
Flynn believes that “you have to do what you love” and creating is what Flynn loves to do. We Can Frame That and Muscatine Photography Studio allow Flynn to work with other creators while also providing an environment that lets him share his creative endeavors with his two kids, who prefer hanging out with dad instead of a babysitter.
With a deep appreciation for local art, the gallery showcases multiple pieces, all from local artists and photographers. Flynn gets excited about original styles of art like the unique three-dimensional leather art, bottle cap mosaics, metal wall art, paintings on feathers, and etchings in granite. Looking to showcase the artists better, the store recently invested in some flat screens that will be framed and hung on the walls. The televisions will display commission works, works in progress, and some videos of the artists in action!
Walt Disney once said, “You can design and create and build the most wonderful place in the world, but it takes people to make the dream a reality.” Flynn feels, “Muscatine is packed full of supportive people for any endeavor or question you might seek; all you have to do is ask.”
