The Greater Muscatine Chamber of Commerce and Industry is always busy behind the scenes. The Chamber has compiled a list of ten events that have taken place over the summer months.

  1. The Chamber led the charge to welcome approximately 20,000 visitors to Muscatine on July 30, along with 1,500 visitors on July 22 and 23.
  2. The Chamber organized a full day of family-friendly activities to celebrate Independence Day, including Kids First Pancake Breakfast, Kids Parade, CAN food table, the Leadership Muscatine soapbox derby resurrection, parade, reading of the Declaration of Independence, presentation of colors, Muscatine Symphony Orchestra concert, raffle drawings, and fireworks.
  3. Muscatine Magazine won a National Clarion Award.
  4. The Chamber responded to three Economic Development requests.
  5. The Chamber Ambassador Network now has 25 Ambassadors. CAN had their first fundraiser on July 4th.
  6. Annually, the Muscatine Young Professionals Network collects school supplies and donates them to benefit local youth. This year YPN partnered with TEAM Staffing Solutions and donated $600 worth of school supplies to Franklin Elementary School.

  1. The Chamber is leading the collaboration of downtown business owners and building owners.
  2. The Chamber helped to orchestrate and publicize over 20 positive news stories about the Muscatine Community.
