Community Block Party

Family-friendly events are everywhere in the greater Muscatine area. For the past six years, Muscatine has held the Community Fun Block Party at the Muscatine Community Y. This year, the event will take place at the the Muscatine Discovery Center.

“We are really excited to move the event out to the discovery center,” said Kas Kelly. The event will feature vendors and agencies in Muscatine. Each vendor is required to give away a door prize and the cost to public is free. “This event is about building community. We want people to come and see all the different things there are in Muscatine, and just be together, and we don’t feel you should have to pay for that,” Kelly added.

Michellen Berns of the Muscatine County Conservation Board said, “We will have the animals out for the kids. We are thrilled to host the event on our grounds, where people can walk around the trails and explore what we have to offer the community.”

The event will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 9. Parking is available at Crossroads with free Muscabus shuttles to Discovery Park.
